A simple motorcycle is comprised of basic parts which when integrated functions as it was designed to. Different systems perform very essential part and function to power a motorcycle. Among the basic parts are the following:
DRIVETRAIN
The drivetrain system of a motorcycle is composed of component that generates power. Drivetrain is composed of engines, carburetor, transmission, shift lever and clutch.
ENGINE ( the engine converts energy into mechanical motion. It burns fuel (through internal combustion). It uses gasoline as fuel. It is mounted centrally below the driver’s seat.
CARBURETOR ( This is the part that blends air with fuel for the engine. Most of the new models use fuel injectors to replace the carburetors.
TRANSMISSION ( The gear system of the motorcycle. It transmits the mechanical power to the wheels (by chain, belt or solid shaft).
SHIFT LEVER ( This is used to change the gear of the motorcycle. This is placed to one of the handle bars.
CLUTCH ( This is the opposite of brake. Clutch provides the driving force. This is usually a pedal operated by the left foot.
WHEELS, TIRES AND BRAKES
WHEELS ( The wheel is the rotating part of the motorcycle. This facilitates the transportation while supporting load.
TIRES ( Tires are the pneumatic part of the motorcycle system. Inflatable rubber tubes inside the thicker rubber thread is used as tires.
BRAKES ( Brakes provides the opposing force to stop the motorcycle. This is usually controlled or activated by foot levers or handlebars.
FRAMES AND SUSPENSIONS
FRAMES ( The frame of the motorcycle is the chassis. Usually made of steel and aluminum. The engine is oftentimes included in the frame. Motorcycle Parts Cheap
SUSPENSIONS ( Suspensions are located both front and rear to do shock absorbing function.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
BATTERIES ( The component that stores electricity needed by the motorcycle.
LIGHTS ( includes brake lights, directional light, tail lights and head lights.
INSTRUMENTATION ( Instrumentation of the motorcycle includes odometer, tachometer, speedometer and sometimes fuel gauge for the new models.
OTHER PARTS
Parts that were not mentioned includes motor seat, exhaust system, mirror, sometimes saddle bags or basket, etc.
One of the common things with motorcycle is that their engine produces a noisy sound. Even with the latest releases of bikes with advanced combustible engines still produce noisy sound. This is where motorcycle exhausts play its role. It helps minimize the noise produced by motorcycle engines. Nowadays, with our latest technologies and continues innovations, exhausts are developed to produce a high power performance for your bikes. Not only that, fumes can also be steered from the motorcycle engine. But basically, a motorcycle exhaust varies from one model to another. The materials they use to create fumes can be a metal or a carbon fiber.
Speaking of fumes, bike fumes can damage the smoke expelling scheme if not properly placed. Generally, this happens when smoke emitting parts are overheated. It’ll cause bluing on the pipes’ tips. To avoid this from happening, the owner of the biker should be knowledgeable enough to make sure that all components in the fume emitting structure work together for keeping the bike engine cool. According to motorcycle experts, to prevent your engine from scraping especially when you turn, it will be advisable that the fume engine to be put on a higher place of the bike. There are two types of fumes that consists the motorcycle exhaust: the twin or doublecylinder and the four- cylinder. Usually, the twin cylinder is used on normal bikes as it moves the smoke into a single section while big bikes require a big part as well, the four-cylinder. yoshimura atv exhausts
Motorcycle exhaust is essential especially in places where there are regulations implemented for a noise of their bike. The fines may vary from simple community service up to imprisonment depending on the gravity of the offense. Laws are implemented in some places to make sure that owners of big bikes will not take advantage of the situation and test their bikes capability. This will also prevent them from making loud noise on the neighborhoods.
Maintaining good running condition of your motorcycle not only maximizes its full potential, but will also give you the assurance of safety and sound ride. There are many tips in making sure that your motorcycle will perform well. Maintaining it will take you time, money and effort but will provide benefits for you.
In doing maintenance, carefully inspect the parts and systems that are always subjected to dirt, wear and vibration. These parts need to be adjusted or replaced if necessary. Inspect the following parts:
Air Filter
Carburetor
Ignition System
Battery
Spark Plug
Clutch
Power Valve (two-stroke engine)
Valve adjustment (four-stroke engine)
Cooling system and Coolants
Oil and oil filter
Also, always do consider checking the following systems:
Electrical system ( the electrical system of the motor is very important because it provides the needed electricity to power the horn, lights and other electrical accessories. Battery checking is done by load checking, seeing to it that it can still deliver needed electricity to the load.
Carbs and fuel ( in assuring proper air and fuel blending, check the carburetor if it can still suck enough air and can blend the precise ration of air and fuel.
Engine ( it needs three things to run the engine; air, fuel and spark. Be sure to have them checked regularly.
Cosmetics and Appearance ( good and healthy appearance of the motorcycle implies a very good maintenance and responsible management. Cleaning the exteriors often requires a lot of effort but with less money involved.
Tires and Brakes ( it is very important for safety riding that you regularly check the brakes and tires. Tire looses air and pressure, so better check them always. Some of the usual motorcycle accidents are caused by faulty brakes, so to avoid the possibility of having such, be sure you’ll have enough brake power to make you safe. Always check the disc brakes, and make sure, it is functioning well.
Motor cycle, the two wheeled motor vehicle is one of the most affordable motorized transports in many parts of the world. Motorcycle is a very efficient traffic solution vehicle in places where traffic jam is an issue. The largest number of motorized two wheelers in the world is in India. China holds the second position.
Petroleum Reitwagen was the ancient internal combustion motorcycle which used petrol. Gottlieb and Wilhelm Mayback, both German investors, designed and built it in Bad Canstatt, Germany in 1855. They called it Reitwagen or riding car.
French Michaux-Perreaux steam bicycle manufactured in 1868 was the first two wheeled motor vehicle with steam propulsion. Later, American Roper steamed velocipede was made in 1869 by Sylvester Howard Roper from Massachusetts. He first demonstrated his craft in exhibitions and circuses using ten samples, in the Eastern part of US in 1867.
Hildebrand and Wolfmuller were the first to produce series motor bikes in 1894. Production of motors increased as the bicycle manufacturers used Hildebrand and Wolfmuller’s design as the basis of the latest internal combustion engine motor bikes.
India was the largest motorcycle producers in the world till the World War I, delivering more than 20,000 units per year. This honor was passed to Harley Davidson in 1920, with motorcycle distributors over 67 countries. DKW became the largest manufacturer by the late 1920’s and early 1930’s. BSA group became the pioneers in motor bike industry after the Second World War. They had produced 75,000 motorbikes every year in 1950’s. From 1955 to 1970’s, NSU, a German company was the biggest motorcycle manufacturer.
Today, the two wheeler industry is headed mainly by Japanese companies like Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki. Harley Davidson and BMW are still in the market with minimal productions.. Others include Piaggio (Italy), KTM, Ducati and Triumph.
Being a true motorcyclist, having your own motorcycle boots is an indication.
You’ll know that as a motorcyclist, your feet will be put in a perilous position every time you ride your motorcycle. Almost few inches from the clutch is the road, and on the side part of your knees are the hot parts of the motorcycle. There will also be times that you will be using your boots to stop by making contact on the grounds, or to lessen your speed a bit or to control your motorcycle. Motorcycle boots will be your protection from the hot temperature of the metal that covers your motorcycle engine. This explain how important having a good quality of motorcycle boots. This is also probably the reason why boots for motorcycle are expensive. The kinds of boots that will suite the rider will depend on their style of riding their bikes. Different styles will mean different suitable pair of boots.
As a motorcyclist, you should seek for the most suitable boots that fits your feet and style in the market. Always remember that you’ll need your feet to handle breaks, shift gears, shift weight, controlling the bike and dragging the pavement so you better have boots that is most comfortable to you. Definitely, if you are a type of racer biker, you definitely need a very good quality of motorcycle boots. The general goal of each producer of boots is definitely to protect the riders from damage of the impact and crush in cases of accidents, and at the same time, making sure that the rider is comfortable, will be flexible in riding their bikes when they use their boots. For racers, the boots that is designed for them is not designed primarily for their comfort, but their security because they are much more prone to accidents. Boots that are knee high is not recommended because this makes the rider a bit immobile.
