Maintaining good running condition of your motorcycle not only maximizes its full potential, but will also give you the assurance of safety and sound ride. There are many tips in making sure that your motorcycle will perform well. Maintaining it will take you time, money and effort but will provide benefits for you.
In doing maintenance, carefully inspect the parts and systems that are always subjected to dirt, wear and vibration. These parts need to be adjusted or replaced if necessary. Inspect the following parts:
Air Filter
Carburetor
Ignition System
Battery
Spark Plug
Clutch
Power Valve (two-stroke engine)
Valve adjustment (four-stroke engine)

Electrical system ( the electrical system of the motor is very important because it provides the needed electricity to power the horn, lights and other electrical accessories. Battery checking is done by load checking, seeing to it that it can still deliver needed electricity to the load.
Carbs and fuel ( in assuring proper air and fuel blending, check the carburetor if it can still suck enough air and can blend the precise ration of air and fuel.
Engine ( it needs three things to run the engine; air, fuel and spark. Be sure to have them checked regularly.
Cosmetics and Appearance ( good and healthy appearance of the motorcycle implies a very good maintenance and responsible management. Cleaning the exteriors often requires a lot of effort but with less money involved.
Tires and Brakes ( it is very important for safety riding that you regularly check the brakes and tires. Tire looses air and pressure, so better check them always. Some of the usual motorcycle accidents are caused by faulty brakes, so to avoid the possibility of having such, be sure you’ll have enough brake power to make you safe. Always check the disc brakes, and make sure, it is functioning well.
